On February 29, 2016, we closed on the purchase of the Valle Del Rio Water System just east of the Rio Grande on Hwy. 28. Funding for the purchase an upgrade of this water system was from the NM Drinking Water State Revolving Loan Fund.  The Phase I improvements consisted of replacement of pumps and a fire hydrant, rehabilitation of the pressure tank and storage tank and the addition of a backup generator, SCADA system, and a new storage tank.

The Phase II project will replace water pipelines and service lines.  Contract award to Morrow Enterprises is on the board agenda for 4/15/20 contingent upon funding agency concurrence.  This project will be much more of an inconvenience to residents than Phase I, which was contained to the well & tank site.  Phase II will involve replacing waterlines in the roads.  We urge residents to exercise caution around construction sites, crews and equipment.  Project engineering firm is Souder, Miller & Associates.

IF YOU HAVE AN ISSUE OR COMPLAINT REGARDING ANY OF OUR PROJECTS, please do NOT interrupt the contractor’s work crew to discuss it.  Contact LRGPWWA Projects Manager Karen Nichols at 575-233-5742 x1018 or by clicking the blue Contact Us button at the top right of this page, then selecting Project Inquiries/Issues.  That way, your issue will be documented, sent thru the proper channels to get it resolved, and we can follow up to make sure it gets resolved.
